About the screens
Florence Broadhurst was an amazing woman who created magic in her Sydney studio back in the 1960's and 70s. Now we're giving you the unique opportunity to own the actual silkscreens she used to print her legendary wallpaper designs, the ones that took the world by storm and continue to be enormously influential internationally.
Being over 50 years old and having been Florence's 'working tools', each frame has its own story to tell - colour splashes, taped areas, print marks on both mesh and frame. All of Florence's production processes were done by hand - hand drawn design; hand-drawn detailed hatchwork; hand-worked layering and colouration - which piece together perfectly. Thus creating designs that, due to the vagaries of the human hand, give each its distinctive personality.
Each of these artworks is mounted in its original cedar wooden frame (measuring approximately 95cm by 95cm), will carry a plaque stating its heritage, and be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. You can be assured that each will be an iconic piece of Australian design history that you and your family can cherish through generations.
